Got rugged and lost all my $SOL apeing the $PAWSE launch, for not using a DEX you probably never heard of >70% of tokens that launch on @solana get sniped in the first block, which was discussed by @aeyakovenko, @blknoiz06 and @davidpco. @VertigoDex's entire DEX exists to flip that script Enter Vertigo Launch Their core primitive is the shiftPool --> a one-sided x*y=k pool that lets you start trading at any market cap while locking 0 real $SOL or $USDC. It fakes the quote side with a fabricated variable, Magic SOL/USDC, then back-fills with real liquidity as buys arrive. Getting dizzzyyy.... - - - - - How a launch works a) Mint token • Create shiftPool --> set MC target via Magic SOL/USDC and lock your token supply • “Begin Trading” --> price discovery for the launched token runs from $0 to ∞ on an AMM that never needs a second pool Anti-sniping curve (on non Vertigo DEXes) • During a custom “normalisation period”, fees are punitive, then decay to the base LP fee • Example from the $PAWSE launch yesterday: buy fee 100% at minute 25, 60% at 45, normalises to 0.3 % after 4 hours • Snipers still fill --> they just subsidise creators and the protocol • That was how I lost all my $SOL apeing the $PAWSE launch on @AxiomExchange, thankfully the team has issued refunds! - - - - - 2. Thoughts on this a) Bull case • Start at $5K or $5M cap with 0 liquidity cost --> Magic SOL scales infinitely • One pool for life; no “graduation” migrations • Fully transparent dev buys, with liquidity locked forever • Creator revenue stream --> configurable LP fee + fixed 0.05% Vertigo fee on every swap • Prevents snipers from front-loading and getting tons of supply at the start b) Bear case • Needs trading bots, wallets, and other launchpads to integrate this new pool type • “Magic” quote asset demands trust and clear UI to avoid confusion. • Early depth and price impact still unproven versus @RaydiumProtocol-like CLOBs • Adoption must come from genuine UX pull, this remains to be seen how Vertigo will perform Future projects may fine this useful as they now have a backend that solves for sniper-resistant launches The key question is whether the team can seed thick enough books before incumbents copy the fee curve + one-sided pool design. Network effects hinge on integrations and partnerships with strong teams, not code. Vertigo could be nothing, or the new default backend for “fair but fun” coins.
