I want to start a little mini-series on this X account. A lot of solo developers have been asking me, “What should I build?”, so I’m planning to share some ideas publicly each week (or whenever) and see what people think. Here’s one: Is there any marketplace where teams can sell both physical and digital goods that works as follows below 👇 Idea: Teams can automatically create a store and initalize any new SPL token via mint on your SC and upload goods like merch or digital products. They set the prices, but the issue with most models I’ve seen is that the buyer has to pay 100% in one token (for example, all in $BONK). Smaller teams usually can’t afford that without selling their token, which defeats the purpose. So what if you let them split payments? Say 50% in token and 50% in USDC—or let them customize the ratio however they want. The site runs behind a smart contract that escrows funds for new merchants for 14 days unless you manually verify them. It’s a hybrid setup that’s somewhere between permissioned and permissionless. Support needs are low, just one solid support agent and one BD/onboarding lead until things scale. The fee model can be a standard cut of each sale. Back in the NFT days there was actual demand for merch and goods on strong communities, don't see why this wouldn't work for tokens and there's a lot more volume of coins that have CTO teams and people running them so the economies of scale are there imo. The idea might already exist but just going to be mind dumping ideas for these devs who constantly tell me they don't know to build.
