looked into this further and found two explanations 1. a number of telegram style trading bots are using the jupiter api with highly constrained settings that force transactions predominantly through raydium and meteora
It's unclear to me why this is happening. Possibly the SIM is just incorrect. Or maybe the Raydium DEX looks good for a split second but is arbitraged out far before the user transaction lands. There is a lot of room to improve user execution quality just by routing fills to the best DEXes.
2. For interesting design reasons, dark AMMs don't support exact_out transactions. So any time a user routes with exact_out, it gets forced through passive AMMs (this is a very small fraction of transactions).
