The past two days have honestly been terrifying for me. It started Thursday night, my son suddenly had a high fever, over 39°C. The next day, my wife and I took him to the doctor, and the result came back: he tested positive for Covid (SARS-COV). Thankfully, the doctor said it wasn’t too concerning. For kids under 5, symptoms are usually mild and complications are rare. We felt a bit more at ease, went home and focused on taking care of our boy. But that same night, I started feeling unwell too: body aches, no sleep at all. Something didn’t feel right. So the next day, we all went back to get checked again. And the result? All 3 of us tested positive. This was the second time my wife and I got Covid since 2021. That said, we’ve both had 3 doses of the Pfizer vaccine - the best one available back then and we even had to pay nearly $500 for all 3 shots to secure our slots. The doctor told us again, no need to panic. With the vaccine, we’ve got strong antibodies. Still, that night was brutal.. I couldn’t sleep a wink. My whole body ached, I was dizzy and drained, unable to do anything except help my wife care for our son. Saturday wasn’t any better… It’s been almost 4 years since I felt this way: so helpless, like I had no control over my own body. Today, I’m feeling a little better. Just enough to try and get back on my feet and handle the backlog of work waiting for me. Looking back, I was way too careless. I knew the Covid wave was creeping back where I live, but I still went out, ate around, moved freely… And now, I’m paying the price. My body is wrecked, I’ve felt tightness in my chest, work’s fallen behind—and worst of all, it’s likely we passed the virus to our son. That hits the hardest. Anyway, the work’s still there, $NEWT, $CAMP, $KAITO, $COOKIE, $SPARK are still there. But your health? It only declines if you don’t protect it and love yourself properly. Take care, Chads!
